PERFECT FAITHFULNESS

Good morning to you this wonderful Saturday!

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
 your faithfulness to the skies.
Psalm 36:5
I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness,
O my God; I will sing praise to you with
the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
Psalm 71:22
But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and
gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in
love and faithfulness.
Psalm 86:15
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:23
Whenever I hear about or talk about God's faithfulness I think of the song "Great is Thy Faithfulness." I love that song and we don't sing it all that often. I love the chorus:

“Great is Thy faithfulness!”
“Great is Thy faithfulness!“
  Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
    “Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!

God's faithfulness is amazing! His mercies are new every morning.
Faithfulness is the seventh fruit of the Spirit. It means as a noun devotion to a person, a cause, obligations, or duties: allegiance, constancy, fidelity, loyalty, steadfastness. As an adjective it means strict or thorough in the performance of duty: a faithful worker, true to one's word, promises, vows, etc. I want to be filled with faithfulness just like Galatians 5:22-23 says, as well as all the fruit.

God's faithfulness is perfect. He and His compassion are new every morning and yet the same. He keeps His promises. He never changes. This is what I want to do:

Since we live by the Spirit, let us
keep in step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25

And I want to be filled with the Spirit every day, as I mentioned the other day. I need to be filled every day in order to live by the Spirit. It means I follow and listen to the Spirit. I am comforted and encouraged by  the Spirit.

              (for the fruit of the light consists in
            all goodness, righteousness and truth)
                              Ephesians 5:9

Faithfulness consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. I want all these things. I pray that the Lord would make me a good or better person. I definitely have room to improve. I love Jesus with all of my heart and He loves us so much more and He will help us along the way to be more like Him, to be filled with His fruit. We just need to ask.

So just ask!

Have an awesome day!

Les
