PEACE FROM THE SPIRIT

Good morning on this wonderful morning. May God bless you richly and give you peace.

Thank you for all your prayers to those who have been praying for my sore back. It is much better, praise the Lord! I still have a small twinge in one spot but it is not too bad. I just have to be careful how I move. I have not started exercising yet which I will start today. When I hurt my back last year, I went to physical therapy and was given a list of exercises. So, when I find the list I will do it. Wow! When I think of what I need to do today I get dizzy.

time with Jesus
blog
exercise
laundry
bag up my Avon order
take down Christmas decor (yes my indoor Christmas decor is still up and outside stuff was put up yesterday)
And I am sure there are other things I will do or try to do

Well, I have really gotten behind being out of commission. But you know we need to make priorities. What do we need to do first? How important is that? Can I wait until tomorrow? I used to be a real bad procrastinator. I am not as bad as I used to be. Now I try to do too much at once and then never get it all done. I get sidetracked real easy. But God will give me peace!

Yesterday was a dear friend of our families birthday. She turned 82. She is like a mother to me. I have known her since I was a little girl, maybe about 9 years old. I called her up and talked to her for a while. I asked her what she was doing for her birthday and she said nothing. She goes to dinner with her son on Thursday evenings and is waiting until next week to lunch with her friends. She said it was an extended birthday. I like extended birthdays. Drag them out as long as possible because then it is longer until the next one! I wish.

Christmas is 11 months or 350 days or 8396 hours or 503781 minutes or 30226808 seconds away. As of 8:42 this morning. Makes you dizzy doesn't it? Jesus's birthday is that close. And obviously I like to drag Christmas out as long as possible. I can't wait! Lord, give me peace.

But I have Jesus in my heart today! He is with me always through the Holy Spirit who gives us peace. Peace is the third fruit of the Spirit. So we need the Holy Spirit to give us power to live for Jesus and to give us peace.

"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good
gifts to your children, how much more will your Father
in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy
Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
Acts 5:32

So, ask Jesus into your heart today. He will come. Now you know that a man cannot come and live in your heart. But through the Holy Spirit, Jesus can and will come and dwell there all the days of your life and give you peace.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as
you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

Be filled today with the Holy Spirit. He is a gentleman. He will not force Himself upon us. We have to ask Him daily to fill us. It is sort of like a pond that will run dry if we don't open the gate or move the log and let the water come in. We have to open our gate by asking the Spirit to fill us each day or we will run dry. And we know it is the right thing to do because we will be at peace.

Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
James 3:18

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through
the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
2 Peter 1:2

Have a blessed day!

Les
