PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

Good morning this fine, rainy day!

Schools are closed today. The rain has flooded a lot of the roads. I know that the kids love it. Of course, the parents who work are not so thrilled. Then they have to find a place to send their kids or leave them home alone. I could never have left my kids home alone until they got into high school. A lot of kids seem to get in trouble these days when they are not supervised. We need to pray for the safety of people on the roads and the kids who are home alone.

When it is rainy like this I don't even like to go out of the house. But I have a few things to do especially since it has been raining since Sunday night and is still supposed to keep on until tomorrow, Wednesday. No wonder the roads are flooded. But we need a few groceries and I am going to a water-color painting class. I am so excited about that!

Let us pray: Oh Lord God almighty, thank you for who You are, and for what You have done for us. You have blessed us more than we can fathom. Your love is beyond all measure. Your forgiveness is more than we can imagine. Thank you, Lord. Please be with those on the roads today. Keep them all safe. Protect them. Put the blood of Jesus around them. Heal those who are sick. and those who need Your touch, Lord. You know everything about everyone so you know who needs You. And of course, we all need You, even those who don't even know it. Save the lost, oh God! Bring salvation to those whose souls are not with You. Help us to be Your hands and Your feet in a world that needs Your love and forgiveness. Show us how to be like Christ. Show us Your ways, oh Lord. Lead, guide, and direct us to give ourselves totally to You, not just part of us but all of us. I love You, Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.

One thing I need to do more is pray. I pray a lot now, in the morning, throughout the day, before bed but there is always room for improvement. I want all my thoughts to be in prayer to Jesus.

Hear my prayer, O God; listen
to the words of my mouth.
Psalm 54:2

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my
prayer or withheld his love from me!
Psalm 66:20

May my prayer be set before you like
incense; may the lifting up of my
hands be like the evening sacrifice.
Psalm 141:2

But when you pray, go into your room,
close the doorand pray to your Father,
who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6

If you believe, you will receive
whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 21:22

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask
for in prayer,believe that you have
received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18

 Be joyful always;  pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s
will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

In the King James Version, pray continually is "pray without ceasing". That means don't stop, always, continually. God wants us to pray. To me it is a command.

How many times are these words in the Bible? In the NIV:
Pray = 121 times
Prays = 12 times
Prayed = 68 times
Prayer = 106 times
Prayers = 32 times
Praying = 36 times

Wow! Does that tell you how important prayer is? Let's remember to praise, thank, and lift up God in our prayers. For He is good. He is worthy. He is our All in all.

Have a blessed and wonderful day talking to God continuously!
