HIS KINDNESS AND GOODNESS

 Good morning!

How are you today? I am very well. I may have been able to sleep later but as I said yesterday: places to go, people to see, things to do!

God is so good all the time! He has given me a blessed Savior,  awesome husband, children and their families, parents, sisters, extended family, a warm home, transportation, wonderful church family and friends, a beautiful place to live, and a wonderful life. How could I ask for more than that? I can't. God is so kind to me. He has blessed me considerably and never stops. I praise His Holy Name!

Do we stop and count the things God has done for us in His kindness? I only listed a few. The list is never ending. He has allowed me to stay home with my kids when they were young. He has allowed me to stay home now with home businesses. I am not a very good business person and my husband says my "hobbies" are costing us lots of money. I have threatened to go get a job! If God really wants me to, I will. He just needs to knock me on the head with a 2X4 in order to tell me. Lord, be gentle and kind!

Kindness is the fifth fruit of the Spirit and goodness the sixth.

But show me unfailing kindness like
that of the Lord as long as I live.
1 Samuel 20:14a

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the
deeds for which he is to be praised, according to
all the Lord has done for us— yes, the many good
things he has done for the house of Israel,
according to his compassion and many kindnesses.
Isaiah 63:7

Kind is: of a good or benevolent nature or disposition; indulgent, considerate, or helpful. So, kindness and goodness certainly go together. God is good and kind to us. And if we are to be like Him then we are to be the same.

Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to
our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
Psalm 147:1

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord
bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he
withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalm 84:11

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what
does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to
love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

Wow, Lord! Our walk must be blameless. I don't think so or at least to me it doesn't seem that we are that good. But His word says that no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. He certainly has not withheld good things from us. So, in His eyes we are blameless. And I praise Him for that! So, all we need to do is to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God. And of course, to walk humbly with our God includes loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves which are the greatest commandments. And in all these things we are to be kind and good like God.

So, as Christians we are not perfect by any means but God says our walk is blameless. It is sort of confusing but He said it, so it is true. I am a literalist. If God says in His word Jesus was born of a virgin, I believe it. No questions asked. So, when it says in His word that He loves us unconditionally or shows His kindness, He does.

I am not a deep thinker so that really helps in my belief. I don't need to question stuff. I hope you don't question God's word. Just believe it!

Let's remember these things as we spend each day walking humbly with our God. He loves us and shows His kindness and goodness each and every day so we in turn can do the same to others.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Les
