LIKE CHRIST
Good morning!
How are you today? I pray all is well with you. Have you seen all the water around? I pray for the safety of each person on the road. I drove to Etowah, TN yesterday and our road is closed so I had to go another way. And the Chestuee Creek is way above flood stage. I haven't seen this much water for years. Schools are out because of the flooded roads. I guess we have it best here because we don't have ice on the roads and ice raining from the clouds. There is power out in other places and the such. Let's pray for the safety of others. The rain is not over yet. There is supposed to be a couple more inches here.
We watched a Christmas movie last night on the GMC channel (Gospel Movie Channel). My husband had recorded it. We have several more that we haven't watched yet. Anyway, it was about a town in Alaska, with a lot of Christians, who went all out celebrating Christmas with the nativity, etc. A guy who grew up there and made it rich came back after 20 years and didn't believe in God anymore. He knew the law (as a lawyer) and fought about putting the nativity scene out and about even saying Merry Christmas. Several people in town tried to fight against him. They didn't really like him or treat him as good as they should because they wanted their public Christmas back. Anyway, as it turned out the guy who came back had lost everything, his job, lost all his money, his home. The town had lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas and the lawyer just was hurting. When the town turned their care and love toward the lawyer, he softened and all went well. It was a real sweet movie.
I hope and pray that our hearts were in the right place at Christmas and even now. Are we putting Jesus first in our lives and truly loving others? As each day goes by and time flies, as it always seems to do, are we putting aside the time and energy into serving the Lord? Are we trying to be like Christ?
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might
be the firstborn among many brothers.
Romans 8:29
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Can we truly be like Christ? Well, we can pray that God can transform us into His image. We study His word in order to know what Christ is like so that we can imitate Him. These verses say we can follow in His steps, and be an imitator of Christ.
Let us do our best to do that. And as we become more like Christ and grow in Him, may we praise and thank Him for transforming our lives. We can do it!
Have a wonderful day!
