A CHRISTIAN
Thursday
Good morning to you!
Did you have as busy a day yesterday as I did? I was so tired last night. But I am loving my life. I am blessed to be able to stay home. I have an awesome husband. I have a wonderful family and two wonderful church families. I praise God for all of these things and so very much more. He is so good to us. His mercy endures forever.
We started a new Bible Study this morning. I take that back. God started a new Bible Study at our church. It is a discipleship study that is 25 weeks. We are doing it every other week so it will be close to a year. But I am so excited about it. I want to be a true disciple of Jesus or follower of Jesus. It is helping us to become just that. I don't want to be just a Christian. A Christian a lot of times doesn't look any different than a lost person.
Here are a couple of statistics from the Barna Group. They are a research group who polls or questions people to get statistics of Christianity.
"One of the common critiques leveled at present-day Christianity is that it’s a religion full of hypocritical people.
A new Barna Group study examines the degree to which this perception may be accurate. The study explores how well Christians seem to emulate the actions and attitudes of Jesus in their interactions with others."
I will finish this tomorrow with the question the Barna Group asked.
Christians: More Like Jesus or Pharisees?
So, let's do it. Be a true follower of Jesus by executing the Great Commission.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in
heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
Have a magnificent day!
