GOOD STEWARDSHIP
Wednesday
Good morning to you!
Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed
be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed
us in
Christ with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places...
Ephesians 1:2-3
I pray that you had a great day yesterday. We did. I got some things accomplished like watercolor class and a few things around the house. We went to dinner with friends last night. What a blessing that was! And we had a great meal and even greater fellowship.
We have been out to dinner a lot lately. As much as I love it, that is not our usual fair. We don't usually eat out that much. We like to eat at home because of the health aspects for one reason. Restaurant food is usually very fattening and very high in sodium. I am not supposed to have much sodium and the food is not cooked in the most healthy way, I mean fried or using lots of grease. The food is usually very good which is why it would be an easy thing to do a lot. Not that my food isn't good. It is! So, we eat at home.
Another aspect of eating out is that it costs a lot of money. Try adding up what you spend a week on eating out. It's crazy. We have to think of retirement and that is not something that we thought about until we were in our 40's. That is really a no-no. We really should think about it and then do something when we get our first job when we are young. Like maybe putting a little money away with every paycheck a little at a time until you have enough to invest. But no one teaches us that.
My husband does not have a retirement plan at his job being self-employed. I don't want to have to depend on the government when I am old. That is not what we are supposed to do. Social security may not be there for us anyway. So, then what?
For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
Anyway, I like to go out to eat seldomly so that when we do eat out, it is really special. And therefore, it saves money that God has given us to be a good stewardship of, it is much healthier, and we save gas money also, since we are so far from town.
Not that we are cheap or anything but we will need it when we grow old. And I want to be the best steward with God's money that I can be. We were not meant to be blowing all of God's money on unnecessary things. I don't want to live in a tent when I am old. Do you?
Do not cast me away when I am old; do
not forsake me when my strength is gone.
Psalm 71:9
We will do what is right and trust in the Lord!
Have an awesome day!
