HE'S KNOCKING
Tuesday
Good morning to you!
Blessings to you this beautiful morning. I was out putting food in my bird feeder at 7 AM. And it is later now and the birds haven't smelled the food or found it yet. I guess the few days without food made them mad or they found another source of food. I ran out of food and it took me a bit to get some more. Maybe they should have knocked on my door and told me. They do talk a lot if I listen.
That is kind of like not getting fed from God's Word. When we don't read His Word and have that relationship with Him that we so desperately need, we are putting our focus on something else instead. Either reading other things or doing other things and not taking the time to give of ourselves to Jesus.
I know that when I don't get enough food of God's Word, I feel a little lost or different, like something is missing. Those birds will go looking for some kind of food elsewhere because something is missing.
I don't like the lost feeling, not that I am lost spiritually, because Jesus is my Savior, but the relationship suffers on my side. And maybe it does in His heart also. He wants us to sup with Him.
Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any
man hear my voice, and open the
door, I
will come in to him, and will sup
with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
So, God knocks at the door of our heart and waits for us to initiate the relationship with Him. We need to hear or listen to His voice and open the door of our heart. And when we do He will come in and dine with us and we will dine with Him. Don't you want to spend time with Him? Sup with Him? Feel His presence?
Someone said that our relationship with Jesus is not a feeling, it is a fact. Well, I can feel His presence with me. Now He is with us all the time but when I am totally focused on Him and worshipping Him, I can actually feel His presence upon me. I wish His countenance was evident on me always but I am afraid it is not. I am very far from perfect and lacking in lots.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may
be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:4
But I want with all my heart to be like Christ, lacking nothing, and mature and complete. That most likely won't happen until we are living with Jesus in heaven but I am doing my best here on earth.
Are you doing your best to sup with Him and be mature and complete in Christ? We can all work a little harder to be like Christ. We can do it!
Have a great day!

P.S. The birds finally found the food. Praise God!
