CHILDREN OF GOD

This was at Callaway Gardens.

Good morning on this fine Saturday!

I pray that you had a great week. It has been a good week for us. The last few weeks have been great. I was able to spend some time working on our family tree on ancestry.com. My husband's brother is a member and got our tree started several years ago. He not only did his family but my family, my daughter-in-law's family and several other family arms. I love this stuff. I just wish I had more time to spend at it. My grandfather's mother's family on my mom's side was part of the settlers who settled part of the Santa Barbara beach area in California. Now isn't that cool? It is to me.

My maternal grandfather passed away right before I graduated from high school. I miss him to this day. He was such a great man. I loved him so much. Maybe I felt it more because I was the first grandchild, I don't know. He was just such a special man to me. I wish that I had shown it more. As a kid you sometimes don't think of family as much as you should. But anyway, now I can try to find our family, for my family.

And then we are all the family of God. If we know Jesus as our Savior, we are His family.

In the same way we also, when we were
children, were enslaved to the elementary
principles of the world. But when the
fullness of time had come, God sent forth
his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
to redeem those who were under the law, so
that we might receive adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent
the Spirit of his Son into our
hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
Galatians 4:3-6

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who
believed in his name, he gave the right to
become children of God— children born
not of natural descent, nor of human decision
or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 1:12-13

We are children of the most high God! Children born of God! Jesus is God's Son. And by adoption into the family of God, we are sons and daughters of God. How wonderful and awesome is that. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.

By being adopted we were chosen.

Praise be to the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us
in the heavenly realms with every spiritual
blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him
before the creation of the world to be holy
and blameless in his sight. In love he
predestined us for adoption to sonship
through Jesus Christ, in accordance with
his pleasure and will—to the praise of his
glorious grace, which he has freely
given us in the One he loves.
Ephesians 1:3-6

Have a  great day! Remember we are a child of the most high King and sons of God!
