LIVE FOR HIM

Praise God for this new day!

Good morning to you on this Sabbath Day!

May we always love you, Lord, seek You, serve You, and honor and glorify You. May we always do the things we should for you Lord, and not do the things we shouldn't do.

I pray that you had a blessed Saturday. We bowled for the American Cancer Society. I had not bowled in so many years that I believe that we were still keeping score with pencil and pad of paper, but it may not have been that long. It just seemed like it. But we had loads of fun. And it started raining buckets in town. It poured and poured and the streets got flooded. Then later on we went to dinner at friends. That was great also.

Normally my husband and I don't do much. We lead kind of a quiet life. Our routine is pretty, I don't want to say boring, but it is just not real exciting. So, when we do things, I love it. But I guess life is not supposed to be exciting all the time. Then I suppose that you would get bored with the excitement. Does that make sense?

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
1 Peter 5:8-10

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Psalm 37:3-5

These scriptures give you a little idea on how we are to live our lives whether they are boring or exciting. We are to live for the Lord.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart    and lean not on your own understanding;
all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

But in order to do these things for God, we have to know Him first. Do you know Him? Do you love Him? If you don't, you need to find your way to Him, or back to Him. God loves you so much. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for all of our sins. And the Bible says that

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23

That is all of us. There is not one besides Christ who has not sinned. But Christ rose again so that we may have life eternally with Him in heaven. That is where I am going to be. And I want you there with me in heaven. Not for me but for you. Give your life to Him before it is too late. You can pray this prayer. It is very simple.

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

If you've prayed this prayer of salvation with true conviction and heart, you are now a follower of Jesus. This is a fact, whether or not you feel any different. Religious systems may have led you to believe that you should feel something - a warm glow, a tingle, or some other mystical experience. The fact is, you may, or you may not. If you have prayed the prayer of salvation and meant it, you are now a follower of Jesus. The Bible tells us that your eternal salvation is secure! "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Welcome to the family of God! I encourage you now to find a local church where you can be baptized and grow in the knowledge of God through His Word, the Bible.

And I am so proud of you. If you have prayed this prayer, please let me know so that I can pray for you and praise God for you.

Have a wonderful day!

Les
