GOD'S JOY

Good morning on this wonderful day!

May God fill you with all joy! Yesterday was a great day. My Dad and Step-mom arrived earlier than I thought. We had commencement for VBS last night. I got my Avon delivered. God helped me get everything done that I needed to do. Now I can relax a bit and enjoy.

Why does it seem that when you are so busy it is hard to be joyful? Well, joy is the second fruit of the Spirit and I want to be joyful. God tells us to be filled with joy. I guess I am not as joyful as I should be. Lord, help me to do better.

He will yet fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy.
Job 8:21

Then that person can pray to God
and find favor with him, they will
see God’s face and shout for joy; he
will restore them to full well-being.
Job 33:26

But let all who take refuge in you
be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over
them, that those who love
your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 5:11

You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your
presence, with eternal pleasures
at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11

Surely you have granted him unending
blessings and made him glad
 with the joy of your presence.
Psalm 21:6

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with
my song I praise him.
Psalm 28:7

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Psalm 33:1

...for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10

I could go on and on with scriptures about the joy of the Lord and about how He wants us to be filled with joy. Read the Psalms. There are so many verses about joy. Which proves to me that God wants us to be joyful. In our busy, stressful lives it is very hard to do but God tells us to, so we should try to be obedient. We receive joy in God's presence.

So, I will strive to be more joyful. How about you?

Have a fantastic day!

Les
