TOGETHER
Good morning!
I hope that you had a great weekend. I sure did! Our church services yesterday were awesome. I have to tell you that I am so proud of my husband. He is doing such a great job at his church. I know that it is God using him in a mighty way. And I praise God for the opportunity to be there together serving Him.
It also really helps to have a wonderful congregation. They are really nice people and are so willing to do whatever someone in the church wants to do to help make the church grow and prosper. I know we haven't been there very long but God is so good and I praise Him for the opportunity and privilege to be there. May He always be honored and glorified in that place. Well, actually in every church in the land.
We are in the church to know Christ, to grow in knowledge and wisdom, to worship and adore Him, to serve Him in whatever capacity He want us to, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. If we can do that we are doing the right thing. I hope that in all churches those things are going on. Only God knows these things.
Let us not give up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of
doing, but
let us encourage one another—and all
the more as you see the
Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25
Pray for your church. Go to church. There is one out there that is the right fit for you. You will never find the perfect church. The messages will not always suit you to a tee. But we are there to worship God not to get something. If in the process of worshiping God, we do receive from Him, that's awesome. I can sit and worship and receive something from Him every Sunday. But my motive for being there is not to receive but to give. Whatever I can contribute is what I am there for. My worship to God is the important thing. And if I can give a smile or hug or encouraging word to someone that is awesome. But I am never there to get.
"The reason to find a good church is because
the Bible instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we
are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the
body of believers. The church is the place where we come together to encourage one another as members of Christ's body. Together we fulfill an important purpose on the Earth. As members of the body of Christ, we belong to each other." says Mary Fairchild
... so in Christ we who are many form
one body, and each member
belongs to all the others.
Romans 12:5
Mary Fairchild also says, "It is actually for our own good that God want us in fellowship with other
believers. We need each other to grow up in the faith, to learn to
serve, to love one another, and to practice forgiveness. Though we are individuals, we still belong to one another.
When you give up on attending church, what's at stake? Well, to put it in a nutshell: the unity of the body, your own spiritual growth, protection and blessing are all at risk when you're disconnected from the body of Christ."
So, don't give up attending church. And don't wear your feelings on your shirtsleeve in church. We are all one body and we are to worship and love God together.
Have a beautiful day!
