Good morning on this beautiful Sunday morning in Arkansas!
What a beautiful drive yesterday! As you drive west the fall leaves are still on the trees and boy what color. I got really tired when I got past Little Rock. But with God's help, I stayed awake and praised Him. He is so good to us.
As I said yesterday I tried to devote myself to Christ, was very watchful, and was very thankful. I am so blessed to have my Dad and step-mom, Loretta. Even though they have moved 500 miles away, I have driven to see them twice now. God has blessed them with a wonderful, little apartment in a beautiful part of God's country. I am blessed to have them yet.
My Mom passed away in November of 2005. She had a stroke in October of 2004 and I never dreamed she wouldn't get through it. I always thought she would get better. And I prayed that God would make her better but that just didn't happen. So, how does God decide how to answer prayers?
Well, in my Mom's case, she is perfectly healed and living with Jesus in Heaven. So, my prayer was answered in that way. Not how I would want my prayer answered but God knows better than us what we should have in our lives. He knows the big picture and knows what is best for us.
God can answer our prayers differently than we ever could imagine but He is God. We aren't! He can answer our prayers with a yes, no or maybe. As I said He knows best.
Next I will list some Bible Scripture about God and our prayers.
"I waited patiently for the LORD; and he
inclined unto me, and heard my cry."
Psalms 40:1
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee
great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
Jeremiah 33:3
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain
thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
Psalms 55:22
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask
in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
Matthew 21:22
_______________________________________________________
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and
it shall be opened
unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and
he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh
it shall be opened."
Matthew 7:7-8
"If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."
John 14:14
"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever
ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive
them, and ye shall have them."
Mark 11:24
"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that
ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you."
John 15:16
Now this last verse has one of the reasons why they are not answered our way. Because God knows best. His will be done.
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any
thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he
hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we
desired of him.
1 John 5:14-15
According to His will is how God will answer our prayers. If our prayers are in His will, He will answer the way we prayed. If they were not in His will, they will be answered differently. But as I said earlier, God knows exactly what is best for us and that is how He will answer.
So, keep praying, giving your requests to God, believing, and He will answer in His time. Keep trusting Him for He knows what is best. He loves you.
Have a wonderful Sabbath Day!
